Antia S. Botana (PI)

Professor, Department of Physics, Arizona State University

Antia joined the Department of Physics at ASU in 2018. Prior, she was a postdoctoral fellow at University of California, Davis (2013-2015) and Argonne National Lab (2015-2018). She has received an NSF CAREER award (2021), a Sloan Research Fellowship (2022) and a PECASE award (2025)

Mario Galante (Postdoctoral Fellow)

Mario joined the Botana group in the summer of 2025. He is interested in problems at the intersection of condensed matter physics and soft matter. 

Ezra Day-Roberts (Postdoctoral Scholar)

Ezra joined the group in the Fall of 2024.  His research focuses on the study of novel electronic and magnetic phases using first-principles calculations and analytical methods. 

Aayush Vijayvargia (Postdoctoral Scholar)

Aayush joined the group in the Fall of 2026. His research interests are in theoretical quantum materials, focusing on quantum computing applications, topological order, and highly frustrated magnetic models.

Shekhar Sharma (Graduate student)

Shekhar joined the Botana group in the Fall of 2022. His research has been focused on electronic  structure calculations of superconducting nickelates. 

Alexander Gavrilov (Graduate Student)

Sasha joined the group in the Fall of 2023. He has been working on problems related to unconventional superconductivity.
